  1. Hi Jennie, et al, I received my invitation from Laura Brent yesterday to participate in the brick-and-mortar side of the exhibit. I'm very much looking forward to this. Reading through your archive, the Lippard & Chandler essay sounds intriguing; I'll have to take a look at it. It seems to me that this show will be addressing some of the issues that I'm trying to resolve in my own practice. Lately I'm doing these pieces that only exist for the duration of a given exhibit. I find that, although I can map the piece out so as to recreate it, it's more interesting to me to respond to a new space in a new way. Anyway, the implications of ephemerality are on my mind right now. There's a book I read over the summer that might be of interest to you guys: Martha Buskirk, "The Contingent Object of Contemporary Art." She discusses both the freedoms and the problems of art in which the object doesn't last, or is replacable, or doesn't exist at all.
